The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it can be alarmed regarding the large quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area daily. The assistance position produced for intervention ordeals a substantial inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to empower the servicing of all sassa status consumers and increase use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
